The dream that sparked a business: Morel celebrates 30 years of audio magic

Meir Mordechai built his first loudspeaker when he was 12 using a wood veneer membrane. He had a dream: to create the perfect loudspeaker. 30 years after founding Morel in 1975, Mordechai is still pursuing his dream - having introduced major technological and design innovations that have redefined the state-of-the-art in loudspeaker technology.

To celebrate its 30th year in business, Morel is unveiling new top-of-the-line speakers at CES2006 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The latest additions are aimed at audiophiles who demand superb sound quality coupled with stylish design. The newcomers to the Morel family include:

Supremo™: High-end car audio speakers
Supremo Piccolo tweeter and Supremo 5SW, 6SW, 8SW woofers are offered as components and as 2-way component systems. The Supremo series encompasses many of Morel's innovative technologies including its under-hung voice coil construction, Hybrid™ and Double Neoג„¢ magnet motor design, Hexatechג„¢ voice coil, and EVC (External Voice Coil) to deliver exceptional sound.

Vario™: On-wall speakers
Versatile, stylish, and elegant on-wall and flat screen speakers, Vario offers high quality sound production as well as design flexibility. Two 5 ¼" (130mm) bass midrange woofers and a soft dome tweeter are installed in every Vario unit. To complement Vario's on-wall speakers, Morel has designed the Vario subwoofer, featuring a 220W amplifier and 10" (260mm) bass unit.

Octave™ high-end speaker system
The well-recognized Octave-Octwin system now has Octave Center, a new full-range center speaker and subwoofer, to create the perfect home theater experience. Octave Center consists of three 130 mm (5 1/4") woofer units and a wide-range tweeter.

Morel's R&D is legendary: the company devotes a great deal of time and resources to designing and manufacturing its own drivers. Over the last three decades, the company has built a reputation for its dedication to superb sound quality. Leveraging its proprietary technology and in-house experience, Morel continues to deliver acclaimed, award-winning speakers that please both the eye and the ear.

It is fitting that Morel's brand name is derived from Meir Mordechai's name, Mordechai Elecroaccoustics, since Mordechai continues to be the driving force behind the company's unrelenting quest for perfection.

Following in his footsteps is his son, Oren Mordechai, who is responsible for the unique design of Morel's products. As Director of R&D, Oren Mordechai is playing an increasingly important role in defining the future course of the company's speakers. The vision of one man has turned into a strong and thriving company, with enormous potential for growth. "The best is yet to come," predicts Mordechai.

Morel will be exhibiting at CES 2006 in booth LVCC 6027 & AP 2003-2004.
